Black
Lives
Matter.

We stand in solidarity against racism.

CNAHS’s central purpose is to keep homes affordable and accessible to all. We strive to provide safe, affordable housing to those who need it, regardless of race, religion, orientation or disability. Beyond that, CNAHS is committed to keeping opportunities open to everyone and to being part of the change as allies in the ongoing struggle for equality, acknowledgement, and justice.

In 2005, in order to better serve the people who live in our housing portfolio, CNAHS created a resident services program. Since then, we have provided over $1,000,000 in college scholarships to more than 300 individuals and have helped hundreds of residents accumulate savings and gain access to better opportunities for their families and children. We have worked to link our residents to multiple services that can help them improve their futures, from health care to day care, from food to jobs programs. CNAHS will continue to look for innovative ways to support marginalized communities.

CNAHS’s properties are located in diverse and vibrant communities. Still, we are not immune from the hatred seen on the news and on the streets. We are not exempt from a system of institutional racism and discrimination. Just like the inhabitants of cities and towns across this country, the citizens of Massachusetts struggle to live and work within systems that too often divide us, confuse us and create an “other” -- systems that disproportionately target and punish people of color. While some of us struggle to understand how or why, too many are intimately familiar with the frightening realities that so many people of color are made to endure, day after day, year after year.

We stand alongside those who protest against police brutality. We stand alongside those who are fighting for acknowledgement and equality. We stand alongside those who are fighting for a more just tomorrow. Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Will Always Matter.
